update

Well, since my last post when Makena slept 11 hours, she has consistently slept 11-12 hours every night.  HOORAY!  Wait...let me knock on wood really fast...ok I'm back.  It has definitely made bedtime a lot more pleasant and predictable!  Bath, Goodnight Moon, eat, sleep.  Terrific!

On the other side of things, she doesn't sleep much during the day.  Cat naps of 15, 20, 30 min.  A good trade for night sleeping though.  She is really alert and talkative.  She is different from Nanea, or from what I can remember of Nanea at that age.  Maybe it's just that I'm more easy going this time around, but she does seem more mellow and well, just alert.  It's like she's taking everything in and absorbing everything around her.

I'm still thinking that her hair will be curly.  It's a completely different texture than Nanea's was, and much, much shorter.  The left side is actually a lot longer than the right.  It's a little strange.  Although everyone says she looks like Noa, Nanea did as well, and yet they look completely different.  Makena has very big, round eyes and chubby chubby cheeks.  She is just a really sweet, love-able baby!

YEAH for the long night sleeps! I always cherished a straight shot at sleep night and was blessed to have four kids who started sleeping through the night at 6-8 weeks old. All of them. But like Makena, naps were short and sweet. Couldn't get much done during the day or get any rest. Must be why I still appreciate 7-8 hours of sleep each night and I rarely nap.
Yeah for you, Aloha!
